A permission-aware assistant over the firm's own archive, so senior time is spent on judgement rather than on finding precedent.

The challenge
Institutional knowledge sat in a document management system nobody could search effectively. Consultants rebuilt work that already existed, and the answer to most internal questions was to ask whichever colleague had been there longest.
The approach
- 01
Audited the archive and established what could be indexed under existing client confidentiality terms.
- 02
Built an ingestion pipeline preserving document-level permissions all the way through to retrieval.
- 03
Implemented hybrid search with citations, so every answer links to the source paragraph.
- 04
Created an evaluation set from real internal questions and measured answer quality before each release.
- 05
Added feedback capture that routes disputed answers into the evaluation set.
The outcome
Precedent that used to take an afternoon of asking around is now retrievable in a query, with the source document attached.
